Lynyrd Skynrd - Darien Lake (7/13/18)
Jeremy Johnson, granted, I'm unfamiliar with this group; and will say the band is talented voice and playing wise. However, why they played just before LS --- I believe Tucker and Daniels are 'more important/well known' than Johnson.
What a night of fantastic music - loved them! Marshall Tucker Band (played 30 mins.), Charlie Daniels Band (played 45 mins.) and Dusty Slay (played 1:40 hours), were all awesome --- they rocked the house, sounded wonderful, and put on great performances!
And, the worst part - OMG!!; EVERY song, except one, was SO slow and dragging - what a downer! Even a couple 'cover' songs they did that are usually faster-paced, they slowed down.
IMHO, this is NOT a way to get an audience 'ready' for a headliner - especially one like Skynyrd, and especially after Tucker and Daniels. Moreso, if that wasn't bad enough - WHY did they play for (90) minutes?
Very painful - ugh! (Just ~10 mins. less than headliner LS ... was Skynyrd late in arriving to the venue?) Again, all in all, a great night of music ... it's just a bummer that the one band/above had such a negative affect on the balance of the experience.
